About Me

Rubik's Cube

My first big passion was Rubik's Cubes. I learned how to solve a Rubik's Cube when I was 8 years old, and my interest spiked again when I saw someone solving it super quickly. I didn't know it was possible, so I bought a Rubik's Cube again and started practicing. In 2012 I attended my first competition: Polish Open 2012 in Białystok, in which I took a third place in 3x3 One Handed. Eventually, I started getting successes in other events, like my National Record in 4x4 in 2013 and multiple podiums in a classical 3x3. A highlight of my speedcubing career was my World Record in 3x3 One Handed in 2014, quickly followed up by a European Championship. In 2015 I also became a Polish Champion in 3x3.

All of my results can be found on my WCA profile.

Maths

In 2015 I started attending Warsaw University of Technology, studying Mathematics. What appealed to me in maths was that it is the only field in which every thing can be logically derived from another. I didn't have huge expectations coming in, but I knew I had to study hard to not fail my classes. Eventually, I ended the first semester with a perfect 5/5 GPA, when most of my friends were failing and dropping out.

During studying, I was especially interested in probability theory. I also paid a lot of attention to learning how to program and started learning Data Science and Machine Learning on my own.

To this day, I think that mathematical background has been quite useful to me.

Lifting

One of my main interests nowadays is lifting weights and everything around that, including physical therapy and nutrition. My PRs (at 82 kg body weight) include:

With squat it is the least clear what counts as a valid PR, although for the 130 kg I think I hit a proper depth. Deadlift is definitely my strongest lift (I do it classic, not sumo). I will definitely aim for >200 kg in the future. Bench press is comparatively the weakest - I am working on my stability at the bottom of the movement right now, as well as on bullet-proofing my shoulders.

Running

I run in order to not be a heavy bodybuilder that cannot move outside of the gym. I started training at the end of 2024. My PRs include:

I did half marathon race before ever running a 5k race, but I haven't raced since. I am aiming to get under 20 minutes in 5k.

Learning languages

Lastly, I focus on learning languages: Italian and Chinese. I started learning Italian at the beginning of 2025 and after a year I can read a "Harry Potter e la Camera dei Segreti" without problems, but still encontering a huge amount of words that I don't know. Especially given that Italian books are written using Pasato Remoto past tense, which has conjugations that are a little bit more difficult to learn.

Chinese is a different beast, with completely different timeline. I hope to be able to speak it in a decade. Right now, I set up some solid foundation - learned Pinyin, the four tones, pronounciation of all the sounds. Right now I am slowly learning basic words and constructs. Fortunately, the grammar of Chinese is relatively easy.

My approach to learning languages deserves a separate post and I am highly opinionated about it.
